History of Rotaract at Niagara County Community College

The Niagara County Central Rotary sponsors the Rotaract Club at Niagara County Community College, 3111 Saunders Settlement Rd, Sanborn NY 14132.

The NCCC Rotaract Club was officially established on February 18, 2016 with the Faculty Advisor, Bridget Beilein. The inaugural membership included five (5) males and eleven (11) females for a total of sixteen (16) members.

SANBORN, N.Y. - The crisp Autumn weather was a perfect setting for a joint community project with the Niagara County Central Rotary and the Niagara County Community College Rotaract Club (sponsored by the Niagara County Central Rotary).

Rotarians Gail Perona, Pat Sullivan, and Dave & Bonnie Seaman were joined by Rotaract members Lara Bax. Bridget Beilein (Rotaract Advisor), Morgan Brown, and Leah Sidote to clean up the Route 31 Roadside from Townline Road to Shawnee Road. Large tasks become small when divided by many!

NCCC Rotaract Club Volunteered at VIVE LA CASA in Buffalo, NY

On March 1, 2016 the NCCC Rotaract Club volunteered at VIVE LA CASA in Buffalo, NY. The NCCC Students were given a tour and learned what VIVE LA CASA does for its refugees and the services they offer. Afterward the Rotaract Club members divided into three groups; opened the playroom where they supervised and practiced English with the children, sorted donations, and cleaned tables and chairs in their cafeteria.

Bridget recognized the need for Citizenship readiness. She said “one of the NCCC Rotaract Clubs next projects will be on the Sanborn campus. After polling many of the students about being registered to vote I realized there are not many registered and there is confusion as how to vote and where to vote. With the upcoming Presidential election in November - the NCCC Rotaract Club will hold voter registration for a week in April and a week in September. Rotaract is really excited to offer this to the NCCC students”.
